Odd Day

September 17th, 2005 (11:10 pm)
chipper

current mood: chipper

I just remembered today that I haven't posted on LJ for quiiite some time... Today was full of all kinds of surprises.

Chris gave away that he'd ask me to homecoming today, but he surpised me anyway. We were driving down BA and there were posters lined along the road that said, "Jona will you go to homecoming with Chris." Yes, he felt he had to put his name, in case another Jona drove by and got mixed up.

We then went to the valley, shopped around a little, (KAT-we bought the final touch to your b-day gift!) and saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose with Sam, Chris, Feng, Brad Havelka (who drives a truck with a taped on side mirror minus the mirror), and Joe. Kat, we knew you don't like scary movies...you would have HATED this one. It was pretty freaky in some parts. Decent movie though. 3:00AM...the WITCHING HOUR.

After the movie was saw ROSS, Jennifer, David, etc. from Eureka. It was awesome, we hung out in the parking lot for an hour and a half. Ross did his male dancer dance for Powder Puff. There were these two MHS girls tp-ing a guy's car. After about an hour of going at it, we call over, "How's the TPing going?" They go, "We have a problem. We locked our keys in the car." Wow...so they took of all the TP, put it in some other guy's car, and then called the cops for help. it was hilarious...

We are DEFINETELY hanging out with the EHS people again.

current song: Chariot

At MFAA, we had a debate in one class. This famous classical musician has a song entitled "Four minutes and thirty two seconds." All it is, is silence. When he plays it in concert, he just sits at the piano and puts his hands on his lap. Is it a piece of profound MUSIC?

I MISS YOU STL!

current mood: sick
current song: Nagging

Yesterday, my parents surprised me with GIFTS! Earlier, they told me they would just give me ten dollars because I spent the rest of the money already. So it was nice to wake up to money and a picture frame carousel thang.

I feel sick. I'm forced to get off the computer. "right now"

Finals, Xmas

December 21st, 2004 (03:39 pm)
worried

current mood: worried
current song: The Spill Canvas

Well this time last year, many were all worried about finals. I was busy making xmas gifts. This year? I was worried about my math final, and spending less time on gifts, although some of the gifts I ended up making were pretty cool. :) I showed up for my math final, thinking I wouldn't have too much trouble passing. Most of the problems were easy, there were a few that just...Gaaah I dont remember ever going over! And those were the ones that were worth 9 points a piece. Great. I ran out of time, also. Got home, got yelled at by my dad because I "shouldn't have hung out yesterday" and shouldn't have "talked on the phone" and instead...studied more. That wouldn't have helped! I already studied more for this friggin thing that I have for any other test in my life.

On the upside, Erin made some icons for me! YAYA thanks Erin!!! One of them is my icon right now.

Gah too many things going weirdly right now...

Driving & Bro's Bday

December 11th, 2004 (05:36 pm)
relieved

current mood: relieved
current song: Aim Snap Fall

Today was certainly and *interesting* day. My brother turns 10 (i think...). To celebrate, our family including one of his friends went to Hometown Buffet. When we got there, my dad forgot he didn't bring any money, so me and him went back to get it. After lunch, we went cosmic bowling. My highest game was 145 :)

Heading back home...oh gosh...While on this local road I was speeding a little...My dad kept saying something about going right or sumtin? FINALLY I realized there was a cop car siren behind me...I pulled over, hit the curb, and was told to go to the school parking lot. I was thinking: Sheeeiiiit. I wait in the car nervously as he does his thang. He comes up to the car and...

Policeman: Hello, do you know why I pulled you over?
Me: No...(i was trying to appear naive and innocent.)
Policeman: You were going 45 miles in a 30 miles speed limit zone.
Me: Oh...I'm really sorry.
Policeman: Do you have your license?
Me: No, I left my permit at home (I knew that morning I should have brought it!)
Policeman: So you have no license on you?
Me: I have a school ID...
Policeman: Well please drive slower, I won't write you up or anything.
Me: Thank you very much!

*Phew* I he saved me from being arrested (no permit and speeding...a big no no). I'm surprised my dad didn't even get that mad about it...

Soon, I'm gonna head off to go babysit five children for the rest of the night...

Thanksgiving Break: The Beginning

November 24th, 2004 (01:20 pm)
happy

current mood: happy
current song: Time is Running Out

Yesterday was a great way to start out the break. I hung out at chris's house for a little while afterschool. We even pulled out the GUESS WHO game, wow I haven't seen that thing for...years...and I picked up homecoming and play pics :)

Rachel (who I had to show how to use her defroster...before she would have her friends manually wipe the windshields with their arms so they could still have the heat on and see the road) picked me up to go to see the Incredibles. We saw Michelle trying to park (she hates her stick shift) and we thought she would hurt herself, poor thang. I had seen it already, but didn't realize I had told two groups that I would go with them...but I didn't mind, I thought the movie was cute. It was Ashley, Michelle, and Rachel from the play. I thought after Freshman year you don't really get ridiculed really...I was wrong. "Well Jona obviously doesn't get shotgun because she's a sophomore." During the movie, I was laying across two seats, it was comfy :)

Afterwards, we went back to Ashley's house, and talked for a long time. She decided to have us sleep over, and Rachel called her mom to tell her but her mom was like, "Get home right now. I don't even know those people." And she said, "Well...Ashley is a Mormon..." We all started cracking up, because we had discussed religion for quite a lil bit in the car. I found out Rachel was Jewish, and Michelle says, "D00d...like in WWII, you know that they like...killed a lot of Jews?" We gave her the most baffled look and said, "NAW! Six million Jews, yeah"

We discussed so many topics...psychology (this girl who was strapped to her toilet seat by her parents for 12 years...,etc.), religion, sex in movies, camp, jobs, colleges, guys, everything, it was nice. We talked 'til 3AM, and got up at 9. It had been a while since I had hung out with just girls and had a nice chat with em :)

Oh, and they mentioned a few movies that seemed good that I need to watch: The Notebook & Eternal Sunshine

This Mornin:
Me and Kat were reading fanfics out loud...we are such dorks, but such hopeless romantics as well...

Chemistry Episode

September 24th, 2004 (01:06 pm)
tired

current mood: tired

I'm finally updating...because at 1PM on Friday, there aren't really people to talk to things to do.

Third period. Chemistry. Pretty cool lab, get chemicals in eye, will burn eyes out. Look at magnesium flame, will burn eyes. I started getting cramps in my lower stomach. My lab partner, Ben, was getting some other supplies, when I blinked, looked around, and suddenly my vision had gone wack...It was as if I had put on a very dark shade of sunglasses and edges of things were pretty bright.

Told my teacher about it...he said I wasn't getting enough blood to my head, and had Zach Steinckuhler take me to the nurse's office. When we were walking down the stairs, I tripped and almost fell. He kind of caught me and we were both shaken a bit. I could hardly see the outline of the stairs. Then at the bottom, everything turned yellow...yes i know the lockers are already yellow...but now so were all the wooden doors, etc.

In the nurse's office, I tilted my head as they put me in a wheelchair and put ice on my back. Then...my vision came back!!! However, I needed to go to the restroom, and the nurse was afraid I may faint in there...so she held me when I was going...*facewall*

Afterwards, I was wheelchaired to a bed, ice pack on forehead, heating pad on stomache. Those cramps hurt soooo badly. Remember, Kat and Sam? when y'all came over one day and I was in pain? Yeah it was like that only worse. I overheard the nurse talking to my teacher on the phone, saying I was getting better, but that I had came in looking green and sweating and that it was a good thing I got down there in time...I waited about an hour before my dad came and picked me up.

Paintballing

current mood: annoyed
current song: Until the Day I Die

Sunday, I got up bright and early for paintballing, and didn't realize my clock was 30 minutes behind. So, when Jason called to say he was already in my neighborhood...I ran all throughout the house looking for other pants, waterbottles, etc.

I went with Chris, Jason, Mindy, and their friend Nick. Jason's old team (yes they actaully have those...) used to be so good that everyone there knew them by name. Oh, and Rental guns suck. Period. Out of 7 or so games, I was only shot twice...where it counted (meaning the paintball explodes on you and oozes out paint). One was on the neck, which kind of stung at first. Luckily, it does NOT look like a hickey.

We played on different courses, with different objectives (capture the flag, etc.). At one point I asked Jason, "If I charge up there will they see me?" He gave me this "omg jona" look and sed "of course not." And then a minute later he starts charging up there...slips...and falls...great sight to see. And yes, the opposing team DID see him.

Overall, it was pretty fun! :)

C-520 Trip

August 8th, 2004 (09:37 pm)
complacent

current mood: complacent
current song: Sugarcult

Saturday: Had to be at school at 6:45 AM...yes that would be IN THE MORNING. When we arrived, we split up into three "pods" for canoeing. The group I was in I didn't like so much. People who didn't wanna row cuz they were lazy, etc. Our pod was last to leave and for lunch, while one group got subs, veggy trays, watermelon, soda, etc. we got saltines and cheese. We had to find 9 more checkmarks than them as well...so as you can see it was a TAD unfair. But there was a "lesson" in it (some people have it easier than others).

Everyone was dirty, etc. So just picture: Two showers...15 or so girls...

Everyone was so glad to get dinner, and we made up a cheesy "commercial" summarizing our canoe trip, etc.

At night, in our cabins (which were pretty nice compared to everyone else's), we talked for 2 hours which was nice :) Blips:
"SMS makes Mizzou look free."
The zoo IS free...its the only free one in the country.
"WHAT? I sed MIzzou."

Sunday: Early wake up (altho we slept in a lil)..."Teambuilding" activites, trying to get thru a cube without touching the side, etc. etc. Then got back to LHS at 3:00PM. SO TIRED.

---It was fun some of the time, boring others, etc. I wasn't friends with many of the people there and it was really clique-y.---

Smoky Mountain Vacation

August 3rd, 2004 (09:14 pm)

---Disclaimer: Contents below contain information regarding my worst family vacation ever---

Friday: Woke up early to meet up with two other families to go to TENESSEE (who goes there for a vacation anyway?!?). It was pouring rain and we were on the highway when my dad ran into a metal thing which caught on the tire. We swerved back and forth across three lanes until we finally fell into a ditch and got stuck for two hours. Luckily, no one was hurt and our car sustained minimum damage. Since we lost some time, we had to cancel our Mammoth Cave plans that day and headed straight for the hotel.

Poker that night, and other such card games...needless to say I whooped major arse.

Saturday: I got to get behind the wheel for the first time during our "vacation." My brother thought we would die, needless to say...we didn't. Rafting was okay, but it started pouring down rain.

Sunday: Drove for three hours to the Smoky Mountains. "Look Jona at the beautiful mountains!" Dad, they are just trees on a big hill...nothing special...Me, Charles (junior and Marquette), and Yue (sp? junior at parkway south) climbed the small waterfall. I got so much friggin dirt, brown crap all over the back of my KHAKI shorts. I got stares from everyone...PEOPLE QUIT LOOKING AT MY BROWN ASS!

Went shopping, got Chris a joke-ish gift, a whitey tighty with a play on words for farting (a lil inside joke) I had to stuff it in my pocket so my parents wouldn't see and be like "why did u just buy guy's underwear jona?"

Monday:
More moutains...YAY! I slept most of the time and dreamt strange dreams that I dont remember. Then...GO CARTING for the first time. I wish the course had been harder...I didn't see the three level wooden track right next to us though *facewall* More hours in the car...

Tuesday: Mammoth Cave...THEY DIDN'T have pretty colored cave things...just all brown and black. I was talking about me dying in there be falling into one of them "endless pits"...and right then I was picked up and screamed because I thought I was gonna be thrown over. THEN WE HEADED HOME YAY! Got home about...7:00PM.
